1. Which Operating Systems
are compatible with Softanyware™?
Softanyware™ may be used to support Windows 95-XP,
Server 2003, and Vista, as well as Mac
10.3.9-10.4. |
|
2. Which Hardware is
compatible with Softanyware™?
Any computer that can run on the above Operating
Systems and is connected to a working internet
point (whether it be physical or wireless) can
start recieving support from Softanyware™. |
| |
3. Do I need to preinstall
any software or hardware on my machine?
No. Softanyware™ enables a Representative to
perform remote support without any software
pre-installed on your system. The client software
only runs for the duration of the support session.
At the end of the session it uninstalls
completely, leaving no footprint on your computer. |
| |
4. Do I need to open ports
in my firewall to use Softanyware™?
No. All Softanyware™ traffic travels outbound
through firewalls using standard ports 80 and 443,
eliminating the need to open ports and compromise
security. |
| |
5. Does Softanyware™ work
through corporate firewalls and NAT?
Yes. Softanyware™ works transparently through
corporate firewalls by initiating the connection
from your system to the Bomgar Box™ on standard
Internet ports. Rather than the Support
Representative having to take remote control, you
are granting it.
Since the session is initiated by the remote
computer, this traffic is outbound, similar to
surfing the Internet. Since a firewall is designed
to allow outbound traffic while blocking inbound
traffic, Softanyware™ requires no changes to your
network's existing firewall configuration. |
| |
6. What is the average
bandwidth usage per session?
The average bandwidth per session at any given
time can be between 0k and 40k per second,
depending on what the Support Representative is
doing. Most of the time, it will hover between 5k
and 15k. |
